Background and Qualifications
I was born and raised in the Netherlands where I qualified as Fitness Instructor (which incorporated Swedish and Remedial Massage), specialising in organising recreational events for small to large groups.
Sport activities were highly stimulated during my youth and have always remained a big part of my life. Healthy tasty food, plenty of exercise, love and laughter were part of every day’s routine.
My experience has been my stepping stone to reach one of my goals – enhance the quality of life of others.
The travelbug brought me to Australia which I have called home since 1994.
I qualified as Personal Trainer while living in NSW in 1998 as well as Gentle Exercise Instructor.
Recently I extended my knowledge as Brandon Raynor Massage Therapist as well as Chinese Massage Therapist.
Both techniques focus on using acupressure points to release the tension in the body and mind.
I am a great believer in natural therapies to maintain or regain good health for body, mind and spirit.
Massage Therapy
A Massage Treatment should always be adapted to the clients needs. I use a combination of different styles – Remedial, Brandon Raynor and Chinese Massage.
A full body massage takes about one and half hours which will have by far the most benefits. Hourly massages are available but not recommended.
Swedish and Remedial Massage are the most used techniques in the Western world. These techniques focus on muscles and tendons only.
But there is more to a human body then muscles and bones.
Like our own energy or chi and the pathways that it uses, called meridians or energy lines. The chi or life force makes us a living human being.
The Brandon Raynor technique feels like a Remedial Massage with much stronger healing effects on the whole body.
Brandon Raynor is a qualified Naturopath, Shiatsu Therapist, Remedial Massage Therapist and has diplomas in Chinese Herbs and Ayurvedic Medicine.
He saw a need to train massage therapists incorporating his professional knowledge of different techniques from both worlds – East and West.
The variety of different massage styles gives the Therapist the ability to help break up tension and toxins. Various acupressure points are pressed along meridians (or energy lines) of the body to release deep-seated stress and blocked physical energy. A massage that releases tension on this level works wonders on emotional and physical ailments.
